Started a webserver

My ISP provides 25M of webspace, but lately I've found myself wanting to post photos during an IRC conversation, and I want something very quick and simple. Posting to the ISP server is a multi-step process involving logging in, navigating to the file, uploading it, then copying the URL to paste into the IRC channel. In addition, the ISP doesn't provide a nice simple directory listing. To find out what files are posted, I need to log in and use a slow web interface.

So I decided to install a webserver on my PC, and host the images here. I can toss one or five or a hundred images straight off the digital camera into a convenient directory, without having to upload them one at a time.

I chose lighttpd because it promised quick and simple installation, and a small footprint. So far its working pretty well. This directory is going to be my dumping spot for random images.
